Silicone is substance found in every rock, silicone is primiraily used in construction as heavy duity adheisive. It's much like if you took a rool of seran wrap (celopaine) and turned it into a luqid, it's basically plastic.
I would venture a guess to say silicone is mined from the earth, melted out of rocks, then chemically processed to give it it's gel properties.

... basically everything modern, it has many different forms.
